The Diamond League was launched in 2010 to replace the IAAF Golden League and its precursor, the Golden League, which brought together some of Europe's highest-profile one-day meetings. The League now includes 15 meetings across the world.
Irish athletes have been competing in the Diamond League since the opening season, with Paul Hession (200m, London meeting, 13 August, 2010), the first. As of 2026, four Irish athletes have won Diamond League events, while Ciara Mageean, 2nd in the 1500m in 2022, is the highest-placed athlete in a Diamond League final.
Irish athletes have participated in all track events except the 100m. Deirdre Ryan (high jump, Shanghai, 2012) and Tori Pena (Pole Vault, Doha, 2016) are, to date, the only Irish field event representatives.
Only events with Diamond status, and not other events held as part of a Diamond League meeting, are included here and on athletes' profile pages.
